CLOSING THE FEEDBACK LOOP WITH GOVHERNANCE

AL Nepal’s Civic Action Teams continued to close the feedback loop between powerholders and communities through programs like GovHERnance, an initiative to build gender-friendly and inclusive local government responses. In collaboration with the Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City, the team created a vision of establishing the city as a socially inclusive local unit. ALN worked with Inclusion Fellows from LGBTQI+ and other marginalized communities on strengthening community feedback platforms. Consultations and visual story-telling training helped the community feed their ideas into Dhangadhi’s new vision. AL Nepal also worked closely with the deputy mayor, along with 39 elected leaders of the Sub-Metropolitan City, on consultations and workshops that strengthened capacity and understanding of gender and inclusion.
