The “Building New Narrative on Right to Information in Nepal” is a creative platform designed for young change-makers. Its purpose is to enhance their understanding and capabilities regarding the utilization of the Right to Information (RTI) and open governance principles, with the goal of contributing to a fair and just society. This innovative initiative has successfully involved 165 RTI activists, 11 RTI experts, 12 information officers, and over 50 participants from civil society organizations, media outlets, and the private sector. These activities took place in seven American Corner locations throughout the country.

Furthermore, this campaign has had a significant impact by reaching out to more than 1000 enthusiastic young individuals attending colleges and universities. These outreach efforts were organized through advocacy campaigns led by RTI activists. The program encompassed various components such as election monitoring by RTI activists, RTI Youth Camps, Democracy Friend Raiser Events, a series of online and offline campaigns promoting accountability, and a concluding fun fair at the end of the year.

A noteworthy outcome of this program has been the filing of more than 20 RTI applications by RTI activists across different locations, all aimed at urging government accountability. This demonstrates the program’s effectiveness in empowering individuals to actively engage with the RTI process, contributing to a more transparent and responsible government.
