EMPOWERING COMMUNITIES: TRANSFORMING TAX DYNAMICS IN DRC

Our CivActs in the Democratic Republic of Congo, spanning Kadutu, Ibanda, Bagira, Uvira, Kiliba, Kigongo, and Makobola are fostering citizen-government trust. With their dedicated Community Associates, the program is sparking change by creating community dialogue around tax collection and budget transparency. Several data collection initiatives have driven impactful shifts – traders are forming associations, forums are flourishing, and public-private partnerships are redefining tax collection. CivActs is reshaping tax practices, combating corruption, and empowering communities across the length and breadth of the DRC.
